How to Get to Here

By Car

Driving Directions to City of Ten Thousand Buddhas (CTTB)

Address: 2001 Talmage Road, Ukiah, CA 95482
From the south
  1. Drive north on Freeway 101 from across Golden Gate Bridge or Richmond Bridge for about two hours.
  2. Exit on Talmage Road, exit 548A.
  3. Turn right to Talmage Road and drive for about five minutes.
  4. Arrive at the Front Gate of the CTTB.
  5. Turn right to enter the road into CTTB and you will arrive at the Administration Office to check in. 

From the north
  1. Take Freeway 101 South.
  2. Exit on Talmage Road, exit 548A.
  3. Turn onto Talmage Road and head east toward Talmage.
  4. Arrive at the Front Gate of CTTB.
  5. Turn right to enter the road into CTTB and you will arrive at the Administration Office to check in. 

Driving Directions to Sudhana Center

Address: 225 South Hope Street, Ukiah, CA, 95482
From the south
  1. Drive north on Freeway 101 from across Golden Gate Bridge or Richmond Bridge for about two hours.
  2. Exit on E Perkins Street/Vichy Springs Road in Ukiah, exit 549.
  3. Turn left to E Perkins Street and drive for about five minutes.
  4. Turn left onto S Hope Street and drive for about 1 minute.
  5. Street parking is readily available.

From the north
  1. Take Freeway 101 South.
  2. Exit on E Perkins Street/Vichy Springs Road in Ukiah, exit 549.
  3. Turn right to E Perkins Street and drive for about five minutes.
  4. Turn left onto S Hope Street and drive for about 1 minute.
  5. Street parking is readily available.
By Plane
​The most popular airport to fly into is San Francisco Airport [SFO] or Oakland Airport [OAK]. You may also fly into the closest airport, Sonoma Regional Airport [STS], but it may not be the cost effective or easiest method.

Rental Car

From San Francisco or Oakland Airport, you can rent a car from Enterprise [www.enterprise.com] and return it at their Ukiah branch location if you don't want to keep the car for the whole time. ​

Public Transportation

Option 1: Bus via Sonoma County Airport
  1. Take the Shuttle Bus by Groome Transportation from SFO or OAK to Sonoma Airport. The bus ride is about 2 hours 15 minutes.
  2. Take Mendocino Transit Authority Bus #65. Please note that there is only one bus per day departing Sonoma Airport at 2pm.
  3. Get off at Pear Tree Center, Ukiah.
  4. CTTB or Sudhana Center is within three miles from the bus stop. Call Hey Taxi at (707)-272-1322 to arrange a ride. Uber service is patchy in Ukiah.

* You may be able to get an Uber or taxi to get from Sonoma Airport directly to CTTB to Ukiah. The one-hour ride will cost about $150-$200.
Option 2: Amtrak 
  1. Take Amtrak [www.amtrack.com] from Oakland Coliseum Station to Martinez Station. You need to take the train departing at 9am or 11am to catch the bus to Ukiah. 

    If you arrive at OAK, you can take the free monorail to Oakland Airport BART station and walk over to the Oakland Coliseum Amtrak Station.

    If you arrive at SFO, you can take BART to Oakland Airport BART station instead.
  2. Take the Amtrak Connecting bus from Martinez Station to Ukiah. There are two buses daily, departing at 11:10am and 2:05pm. The bus ride is about 3 hours.
  3. CTTB or Sudhana Center is within three miles from the bus stop. Call Hey Taxi at (707)-272-1322 to arrange a ride. Uber service is patchy in Ukiah.

Carpooling from San Francisco Bay Area

We will set up a self-service carpool website about 4 weeks prior to the start day of the retreat for you to coordinate with fellow participants to offer or get rides.
By Train

From San Diego, Orange County, Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Central Valley, or Sacramento to Downtown Ukiah

Take Amtrak to Martinez Amtrak Station to catch the connecting bus to Downtown Ukiah. Check Amtrak's website for timetable and details. Some Amtrak stations provide free parking.

From Bay Area to Downtown Ukiah

Take Amtrak from your local Amtrak station to Martinez Amtrak Station and catch the Ukiah-bound bus. There are two buses daily, departing Martinez at 11:10am and 2:05pm. The bus ride is about 3 hours.

Alternatively, if you are closer to a BART station, you can travel to Richmond BART station to catch Amtrak from Richmond Amtrak station to Martinez Amtrak station. Richmond BART and Amtrak station are collocated.  Please note that Martinez BART station and Martinez Amtrak station are not connected. You would need to take an Uber to make the connection [15 minutes drive].

From Arcata, Eureka, or other cities along 101 North of Ukiah to Downtown Ukiah

Take an Amtrak bus to get to Downtown Ukiah. ​

From Downtown Ukiah to CTTB or Sudhana Center

CTTB or Sudhana Center is within three miles from the bus stop. Call Hey Taxi at (707) 272-1322 to arrange a ride. Uber service is patchy in Ukiah.
